Motorized cart or wall mount? Choosing for meeting rooms and classrooms
A wall mount is cheaper per room. A cart can be cheaper per organisation. How to decide which one your spaces need.
Interactive displays and large meeting-room screens are expensive. Before you put one on every wall, it is worth asking how often each one will actually be used.
When a wall mount is the right answer
- The room is used all day, every day, with the same layout.
- The screen is part of a fixed video-conferencing setup.
- You want the cleanest look, with cables run through the wall.
For these rooms a slim tilt mount or a full-motion arm is simple, tidy and permanent.
When a motorized cart pays for itself
- Several rooms each need a screen occasionally — one cart can serve them all.
- The same screen is used by seated groups and standing presenters.
- You cannot drill: rented offices, glass partitions, heritage buildings.
- The display needs to lie flat as a touch table some of the time.
Our motorized carts lift the screen through a 1000–1500 mm range by remote control, and the tilting model goes from upright to fully flat. That flexibility is what makes one screen useful in many places.
Practical points for carts
- Doors and lifts: measure the route. Our 86″ carts have a 1000 mm base; the 100″ model is 1100 mm wide.
- Power: the motor needs a socket to adjust height; moving the cart doesn’t.
- Equipment: an adjustable shelf carries up to 10 kg — enough for a camera, codec or mini PC.
A mixed approach
Many of our clients do both: wall mounts in the rooms that are booked all day, and one or two carts for training rooms, events and occasional spaces. If you send us a list of rooms and how they are used, we can propose a split.
